I’ve always needed to know a lot of information to feel comfortable, especially if its something I’ve never experienced before (like getting braces!). After worrying a lot about my dance (which was new because I love everything about dance!) studio moving locations and having new teachers, I had a huge epiphany! I feel like God is using me to help other kids who worry. I really want to help kids not feel afraid or worry! I want to help kids deal with their fears so nothing can stand in the way of going for their dreams! My friends were there for me in class when I was feeling worried, they would do silly things to make me laugh, and we came up with a silent secret language to say things like “I got your back”. My parents always encouraged me to be brave, and we talked a lot about the things that worried me and they helped me figure out how to work through worries. I thought it would be a great idea to show kids specific ways to help them deal with worrying and to encourage them to be brave! And if you have a friend who is worried about something, how to help your friend, just like my friends and I do for each other. I tried a lot of different things, and we’ve included the ones that have helped on this website. We hope it helps!
